DotA/CoD Raid Sign-ups
Reported by Seaward | November 16th, 2009 @ 04:09 PM
Hi Chris! Cait said to fill out a ticket for you to look into. \o
For about a month now, when I go to the DotA or CoD raid sign-ups and put Seaward (drood) down for a raid, it only gives me a DPS checkbox. Where before there used to be all 3 DPS, Tank, and Healer checkboxes. At first I thought it was because I talked to Cait about switching Sea's mainspec to kitty, but she says it shouldn't be doing that.
Thanks!
Jen

About the same time did your first character in that list change? Did you raise Aylaiine to level 80 or something?
What's supposed to happen is when you select Seaward from the drop down the browser uses AJAX to fetch the right boxes for the class you selected. You should see the class option box go away, replaced with a purple circle thingy for a split second before (hopefully) the 3 classes appear. Does this happen, or does the dps check box just stay with no circle purple thingy?
Make sure you have javascript enabled (if you use something like No-Script you allow javascript on the raid site).
What browser/OS are you using?

Now that you mention it, I did make Ayla inactive via the Account page since I'm not planning to raid much with her anymore, and I wanted Sea to be defaulted to the first in the drop-down box. I just went in and re-activated Ayla, Sea becomes second on the drop-down menu, and when I choose Sea it shows the purple circle loading graphic and gives the Tank/DPS/Heals options again. But when I make Ayla Inactive and Sea is the only toon showing up in the box (she shows up in the box without clicking to expand the drop-down menu, the same way Ayla does when she is Active), it only shows the DPS option.
No-Script is allowing everything on the page. I'm using Windows XP Pro with Firefox 3.5.4. I can fire up my laptop which has Vista if you want!
I just poked at it with IE 7, and when I try to make Ayla inactive on that browser, it doesn't "stick." I'll check the box to make her inactive, click save, but it doesn't update her status on the Account page, and she still shows up as an option on raid sign-ups. Actually, comparing the Edit to what I see on FF, there is no Save button under Ayla. The only Save button is down at the bottom under New Character.
Okay I just tried making Ayla Inactive on FF and then going over to IE for the raid-signups. Same thing happens with the DPS/Heals/Tank options as in FF when Ayla is inactive.
And as a final test, I just added my new pally Lutala as a new character, made her active, and made Ayla inactive. On the raid sign-up page, Sea shows in the box with only the dps option. When I choose Lutala from the drop-down, it loads the DPS/Heals/Tank options for that toon. If I choose Sea again, THEN it loads the DPS/Heals/Tank options.

AWESOME, good to know that it loads the 3 if you go OFF of Sea then back on to her. Clearly the system is just including Inactive characters when it loads the first set of boxes when you first hit the page. I should be able to fix this tonight. Thanks for the help :)
